A six-day rhythm
Day 1
The Acropolis
An early timed slot on the Acropolis, lunch in Koukaki, then the Acropolis Museum in the afternoon.
Day 2
Ancient city
The Ancient Agora, the Roman Agora and the Tower of the Winds, then Plaka and Anafiotika as the light turns golden.
Day 3
Museums & Kolonaki
The National Archaeological Museum in the morning, then the Benaki and the Museum of Cycladic Art, and sunset on Lycabettus.
Day 4
Modern Athens
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center and its park, then a swim and dinner on the Riviera.
Day 5
Island day
A ferry from Piraeus to Aegina, Poros or Hydra, back for a late dinner.
Day 6+
Go further
Delphi, or Nafplio with Mycenae and Epidaurus, or Cape Sounion for sunset at the Temple of Poseidon.
Honest thought: the sites are on hills with uneven marble underfoot. Wear shoes with grip, start early and keep one museum for the warm middle of the day.
