The Bridge on the River Kwai, war museums and waterfalls; better as an overnight.

Leave early
Floating markets are calmest before 9am; road traffic out of the city builds quickly.
Pick one main stop
Combine only neighbouring sights, such as Maeklong with Amphawa.
Book a return
Pre-book a driver or return train; late taxis from the provinces are scarce.
Respect wildlife
Choose ethical sanctuaries and avoid elephant rides or animal shows.
