المساجد وملاحظات للمسافر المسلم

دليل الطعام الحلال
Türkiye is easy for Muslim travellers: every village has a mosque, local restaurants serve halal meat as standard, and prayer times are announced from the minarets.

Halal-friendly tables

Village lokantas
Small family restaurants serving stews, pide and kebabs rarely serve alcohol and use local halal meat.
Testi kebab
Meat and vegetables sealed in a clay pot and cracked open at the table; ask for lamb or beef.

Prayer & practicalities

Friday timings
Jumu’ah is at Dhuhr, around 12:30 in October. Use the Diyanet prayer-time app or ask your hotel for the day’s time.
Prayer on tour days
Every village on a tour route has a mosque with wudu facilities; ask your guide to stop. Larger sites and petrol stations often have a mescit.
Visiting a mosque
Shoes off at the door; women cover their hair, and everyone covers shoulders and knees. Visit outside prayer times.

Good to know

Alcohol
Many cave hotels and tourist restaurants serve wine; Cappadocia is a wine region. If it matters, ask before booking or choose a family lokanta.
Sauces and desserts
In upscale restaurants, ask whether wine is used in sauces, glazes or desserts.
Hamam etiquette
Traditional hamams have separate sections or hours for men and women; ask at the door.
Ramadan is not this month
October 2026 has normal daytime hours for restaurants and cafés.
