ANA’s free hangar tour on weekdays only, with bookings opening at 09:30 one month before your date. The tour is in Japanese, but the aircraft speak for themselves.

Japan’s first aviation museum, with a YS-11 airliner, a Boeing 747 section and an outdoor deck facing Narita’s runway. Open 10:00–17:00, closed Mondays, and shut for refurbishment throughout December 2026.

Tokyo’s favourite day hike, with marked trails, a cable car and Yakuo-in temple near the top; on clear days you can see Mount Fuji. Go on a weekday in November to avoid the busiest autumn crowds.

A cable car lifts you to a mountain-top shrine village, from where a gentle trail leads to the Rock Garden, a mossy stream valley. Allow a full day.

Volcanic valleys, lake views and autumn colour, linked by ropeway, boats and walking paths. The Hakone Freepass covers most transport from Shinjuku.
