Good to know
Go with a licensed operator
For dune driving in Liwa, book a licensed 4x4 tour; never attempt soft sand yourself.
Start early
Leave after suhoor or breakfast, and plan to be back for iftar; roads are busy just before sunset in Ramadan.
Pack for the desert
Water, hats and a warm layer: February desert nights can be cold.
Check the tide and wind
Kayak tours run around the tide, and strong winds can cancel them; keep a flexible day.
