For visitors who need a visa, it waives the fee after three nights and covers Petra and 40 other sites. Arab nationals pay a reduced Petra fee of JOD 30, so compare first.

Sunday to Thursday, 8.30pm–10.30pm, JOD 30 and not covered by the Jordan Pass. You also need a day ticket.
Getting south
JETT runs a daily early-morning coach from Amman to Petra; otherwise hire a car or driver. The Desert Highway is faster, the King’s Highway more scenic.
Short days
The sun sets before 5pm in November. Leave early and avoid driving the desert roads after dark.
