Before you go

Sea bus from Istanbul
BUDO sea buses sail from Kabataş to Mudanya in about 1 hour 50 minutes; since 1 January 2026 the Eminönü pier is closed and sailings use Kabataş. Children under 6 travel free (one per ticket).
Mudanya to Bursa
BUDO runs no shuttle; take a city bus or taxi from the Mudanya pier into Bursa.
By road
The motorway over the Osman Gazi Bridge links Istanbul and Bursa; coaches and private transfers run daily.
Gondola tickets
In late 2026 a return cost 500 lira (students 250), with the line running 10:00–18:00. Prices change often; check bursateleferik.com.tr.
Get a BursaKart
The city travel card works on the metro, trams and buses.
Ski hotel packages
Uludağ hotels usually sell full-board stays with lift passes. Book early for January weekends and Turkish school holidays.
Dress for both
The city is damp and around 2–10°C; the mountain is snowy and colder. Waterproof boots and layers.
Thermal baths
Ask about separate women’s sections or hours, bring a swimsuit or rent a peştamal, and stay hydrated.
Mosque visits
Avoid prayer times and Friday midday; cover up, shoes off and phones silent.
Cash and cards
Cards work widely; keep lira for bazaar stalls, tea and taxis.
Taxis
Use metered taxis or ask your hotel to call one, especially for Cumalıkızık and the gondola station.
Adaptors
Sockets are type C / F. Gulf three-pin plugs need an adaptor.
Bursa is calm and welcoming. On the mountain, follow piste markings and staff, and check the entry rules for your passport before you travel.
