Settle into your beach, swim in the late afternoon and watch the sunset from the sand.
Day 2
Old Town
Thalang Road, Soi Romanee and the Thai Hua Museum in the morning, a roti lunch and a cool café break, then Khao Rang viewpoint at dusk.
Day 3
The south
Wat Chalong early, Big Buddha before the heat, then Nai Harn beach and sunset at Promthep Cape.
Day 4
Phang Nga Bay
A boat day among the limestone islands, with sea-cave canoeing and lunch in the Muslim stilt village of Koh Panyee.
Day 5
Beach day
Nothing planned. A long swim, a massage and seafood by the water.
Day 6
Phi Phi or the Similans
Leave early on a licensed speedboat for snorkelling. Check the weather the evening before.
Day 7+
Go deeper
Krabi’s Railay peninsula, Khao Lak’s quiet beaches or the island of Koh Yao Noi.
Honest thought: Phuket is bigger than it looks, and traffic between beaches is slow. Base yourself in one or two areas, plan one region per day, and keep a spare day for boat trips cancelled by wind.
