Zanzibar with children
A stroller-friendly rhythm matters more than chasing every attraction
Stone Town’s lanes are narrow and uneven, so use a carrier. Plan the beach around the tides and the heat, and keep big outings for the morning.

Paje
Paje lagoon at low tide
Shallow, sandy water sheltered by the reef: good for paddling with small children when the tide is out.
Save
Forodhani at dusk
The seafront park is lively in the early evening; children love watching the grills and the boats coming in.
Bring reef shoes for tidal beaches, strong sun protection and a hat. Ask your doctor about malaria prevention for children before you travel.
