Hiking in Kyoto
November brings autumn colour to the forested hills that ring Kyoto, and several good trails start from a train or bus stop.
About 30 min by Eizan Railway from Demachiyanagi
Kurama to Kibune trail
A forest path over the mountain from Kurama-dera temple down to the riverside village of Kibune, about 90 minutes. Take the Eizan Railway to Kurama and walk towards Kibune so the steep section is uphill.
