Hiking in Tokyo
November is peak autumn-leaf season on the wooded mountains at the edge of Tokyo, all an easy train ride away.
About 50 min by Keio Line from Shinjuku
Mount Takao
Tokyo’s favourite day hike, with marked trails, a cable car and Yakuo-in temple near the top; on clear days you can see Mount Fuji. Go on a weekday in November to avoid the busiest autumn crowds.
