Kuwaiti citizens apply online at evisa.gov.az at least three working days before travel. Passports need six months’ validity.
Check before going
Register if you stay long
Stays over 15 days need registration with the State Migration Service; hotels can do it if you ask.
Airport bus
The Aero Express H1 runs to 28 May station around the clock. You need a BakuKart, sold at the machine outside Terminal 1 for cash.
Use app taxis
Bolt and Yango show the fare before you ride. Avoid drivers who approach you in arrivals.
Carry some cash
Cards work in hotels and malls, but small shops, Ateshgah and drivers at the mud volcanoes may want manat.
Dress for wind
Baku is a famously windy city, and February gusts off the Caspian bite. Windproof jacket, hat and gloves.
Service charge
Mid- to high-end restaurants often add a service charge. If not, around 10% is usual.
Plugs
Types C and F, 230 V. Bring an adaptor from Kuwait.
Stay connected
Buy a local SIM or eSIM; WhatsApp is the usual way to reach drivers.
Baku is a safe, easy city for families. Check entry rules for your passport before you book, and book Shahdag hotels early for the Kuwaiti holiday week.
