Bang Rak
Riverside & Charoen Krung
Grand river hotels, galleries and boat piers. Saphan Taksin BTS links you to the rest of the city.
Best for river views
Pathum Wan
Siam
Malls, museums and the BTS interchange. Central, practical and easy with children.
Best for a first visit
Sukhumvit
Long avenue of hotels, cafés and nightlife along the BTS. Asok and Phrom Phong are the useful stops.
Best for food & nightlife
Silom & Sathorn
Business district by day, rooftops and restaurants by night, with Lumphini Park close by.
Best for couples
Ari
Leafy lanes, small cafés and local restaurants a few stops north of Siam on the BTS.
Best for slow travel
Chinatown (Yaowarat)
Gold shops, temples and night-time street food. Loud and atmospheric; the MRT stops at Wat Mangkon.
