Good to know
Use the expressway
The Southern Expressway cuts journey times to Bentota, Mirissa and beyond; the coast road is slow but scenic.
Hire a driver
A day car with a driver is affordable and simpler than buses for families.
Whale-watching sea
Swells can be big; take seasickness tablets the night before and the morning of the trip.
Book safaris properly
Use a licensed jeep through your hotel or a trusted operator and pay park fees at the gate.
