Good to know
Plan ahead
Sintra’s popular palaces use timed tickets, and September slots can sell out.
Check the coast line
Rail is easiest for Sintra. On the Cascais line, works can replace evening and weekend trains with buses — check CP first.
Use a car selectively
Arrábida’s coves and rural viewpoints are the strongest case for one.
Swim smart
Atlantic water is cool and conditions change; choose lifeguarded beaches.
