Trebević, Igman and the slopes above Vratnik turn gold and red through October. Ride the cable car or walk up to the fortresses on a clear day.

The museum opens 08:30–17:00 until the end of October, then 09:00–16:00 from 1 November.

The festival celebrates its 30th year in 2026. If your trip runs into early November, it is worth planning around.

Bosnia moves to winter time; sunset comes about an hour earlier from that evening.

Expect highs in the mid-teens and nights only a few degrees above freezing, with some rainy days.

The summer crowds have gone, so the bazaar and museums feel calmer and hotels are easier to book.
