Zermatt with children

A stroller-friendly rhythm matters more than chasing every attraction
A sled is easier than a pushchair on snowy lanes. Keep high-altitude trips short, break for something warm every hour and go up early, before the wind.

Ski school

Free lift passes
Children up to 8.99 years ski free with a photo pass, and get a Wolli Card when an adult buys a multi-day pass. Ages 9–15 pay half; on Saturdays the Zermatt pass is free up to 15.99. Bring ID.
Childcare
The official Wolli partner ski schools run a kids’ club and childcare for families who want a few hours on the slopes.
Dress children in thermal layers, a ski suit, helmet, goggles and mittens; sunscreen and sunglasses matter as much as warmth at altitude. Children under 9 ride the Gornergrat railway free in winter.
